Annalena Simonis, Tuesday 15 June 2021 | Reading time: 5 min.Juline has been working as an executive assistant for InLoox at our headquarters in Munich since July 2019. Since then, she not only supports our executive management in day-to-day business, but also our sales department. In addition, Juline manages the accounting as well as all human resources matters at InLoox.
1. What motivated you to apply for a job at InLoox?
At the time, I thought that the job posting really spoke to me. The description of the tasks was exactly what I had in mind. Another plus point was the beautiful location of the office in Parkstadt Schwabing. The number of team members also appealed to me. I found out that I prefer to work in smaller companies with a familial atmosphere and a casual culture. When I came to InLoox for my job interview, I was won over by the friendly, open and relaxed nature of our two CEOs.
2. Which project would you like to see accelerated?
Plans and projects for bike traffic in Munich. I would like to see more and more importantly safer and wider bike lanes. The city of Munich already made a good start last year with the pop-up bike lanes, which will probably come back again this year, and which I very much welcome.
3. What profession did you want to pursue as a child?
I always wanted to work at Munich Airport because of the special atmosphere there. So I considered starting a vocational training as an air traffic control clerk, but in the end the low salary prospects, having to work in shifts and the limited advancement opportunities spoke against it.
4. Who or what would you like to be for a day?
An apartment cat. Sleeping from morning to night and in between a little care and cuddles from my loving owners – that sounds like the best life.
5. What is your life motto?
The journey is the destination.
6. Where would you like to live if you had the choice?
I could imagine living in any place within Germany. In particular, however, in Düsseldorf to be closer to my family.
I’ve been living in the largest ecological model settlement in Germany since December 2019. Which means that a small dream of mine has come true, so I would like to settle here for now.
7. What is your favorite personal project?
I have two favorite private projects:
My first project started last year in March 2020, right at the start of the Corona pandemic. I was looking for something to do in the evenings. Through a very good friend of mine, I finally came across yoga. I can even call myself "advanced" now. Yoga helps me relax after a hard day at work and to completely block out everyday worries for a few minutes or hours. The feeling afterwards is amazing.
My second big project, which I started in August 2020, was the change from a vegetarian to a vegan diet. Since I have been eating vegan, I feel much fitter and have much more energy. I have already been able to observe health benefits as well.
8. What do you like to do most when you are not taking care of InLoox customers?
I love to cook, naturally fresh and plant based. Regular exercise is key for me, whether it's cycling, yoga, walking or hiking. I also think it’s very important to regularly take small breaks. For example, reading a book or listening to a podcast. I also like to meet friends in the Maximiliansanlagen or at the Isar river in Munich. I like to recharge my batteries in nature, be it at the lake or in the mountains.
Corona Special:
9. What's your work from home life hack?
I like to take short walks in the park during lunchtime for a little change of scenery to refresh my thoughts again.
10. Three things you love about working from home.
1. I can sleep longer
2. Commuting to work is no longer necessary
3. Snacking is now even easier
11. What do you miss most about office life?
The short chat with colleagues in the hallway and during the lunch break
