Munich, August 1, 2017 - One year ago, Munich-based project management software developer InLoox GmbH partnered with Augsburg-based distributor SOS Software Service GmbH to take the step into the channel. The results are positive: both agree, it was an intense year on which to build now.
When the distribution agreement was signed between InLoox and SOS Software Service in the summer of 2016, it was clear they were a good fit. They agreed on pursuing an ambitious goal: Scaling up the growth InLoox has achieved in direct sales in recent years by developing the channel sales. "An increasing number of end users want to buy more than just an InLoox license," Dr. Andreas Tremel, founder and managing director of InLoox GmbH says. "They expect advice on the complete infrastructure into which InLoox can be integrated. Our channel partners offer this service and the corresponding products. This is their strength and we see great potential for InLoox in the channel." Digitization, virtualization and cloud services are the keywords under which many companies modernize or completely rebuild their IT infrastructure. In the course of this, it is important to find solutions that fit the corporate strategy. And here, too, the channel's expertise is in demand. "The channel business is changing rapidly," Marc Gloning, Managing Director of SOS Software Service GmbH states. "Anyone who wants to be successful in this rapidly changing world has to adapt to that. And that means: pushing not only the license business, but especially the solution-oriented business. This is precisely why we added InLoox as a company software to our portfolio a year ago."
While InLoox was used to business transactions being concluded quickly through direct sales, the channel business partners need to be developed step by step. InLoox actively supports its partners in the pre-sales phase with qualifying webinars and on-site demonstrations as well as by hosting events and offering marketing and sales materials for the after-sales phase. The fact that some partners not only sell InLoox project management solutions and services but also use them internally shows that this investment pays off. These are ideal conditions for resellers and system houses to acquire InLoox know-how and be able to advise their customers individually and specifically. "InLoox and SOS Software Service have worked very hard. We quickly worked out and implemented important measures such as a partner program and a roadshow," adds Marc Gloning and praises the cooperation with the developer.
InLoox - a channel product
Tasks are part of everyday business, every department has projects and every company, no matter what industry, has to work efficiently to be competitive. The demand for project management software is therefore immense meaning a fast-growing market for InLoox partners. "We attach great importance to establishing a mutually beneficial cooperation with our partners. The positive business development of the partners who have InLoox in their portfolio shows that InLoox is a lucrative channel product," Andreas Tremel explains. In addition to license sales, InLoox services are also an opportunity to increase profits.
Conclusion after one year of channel business
For InLoox, the first year was a successful learning-by-doing process. Identifying and activating suitable partners in the channel was a time-consuming task. However, developers and distributors agree: InLoox will continue to invest in the development of the channel. Currently InLoox is focusing on the German-speaking market and is intensively looking for partners who strengthen its sales and support network in the respective countries. "Together with SOS Software Service we have already gained 30 new partners. We would like to actively support these committed partners in further expanding their business with InLoox," Tremel summarizes a milestone goal.
